Cookie is a beautiful little mini Schnauzer and her sweet face will melt your heart.  She loves to play with toys and she is so cute when she is running through the house being her perky little self.  She is approximately 8 years old and weighs a bit over 11 pounds – we are helping her lose a little bit of weight and she only has a pound or less to go.  She really is a beautiful little dog.  Cookie has the most expressive face and will just sit there and watch you – she doesn’t miss anything!  She gets along well with our other small dogs but she does have to learn to trust them first.

Cookie was with her family for 8 years but she developed a bladder stone and it got quite large and required surgery.  Her family didn’t feel they were able to afford the surgery so they took her to the vet to be pts.  The vet reached out to DFW Pup Patrol and asked us to rescue her rather than just letting her go like that.  Lisa Arion said, of course, and Cookie had the surgery she needed as well as a dental cleaning.  Lots of caring people helped cover the cost of getting her healthy again and now she is ready to start looking for her new home.  Cookie has had a rough time of it this year and was in a lot of pain for a good while so all of these things have made her a little slow to trust new people.  She has improved tremendously since being in her foster home and she can be a delightful little dog – again – her face just melts you!  She loves curling up in her dog bed and watching your every move – she is a sweetheart that will need just the right home to appreciate her.  Cookie would probably do best in a home without small children.  She is finally pain-free and ready to begin the rest of her life!  She is housetrained and crate trained and actually even enjoys being in her crate.  She will follow you from room to room and just curl up in her bed – she just wants to be close.
