This exotic girl is Possum and she is about 2 years old; she is fully grown and what you see is what you get!  Isn't she amazing!  Possum is one of the sweetest and smartest dogs we have ever fostered.  She loves to be cuddled and, while she enjoys toys and other dogs, she will always go to her people first. If you are looking for a dog you know is a lover, then Possum may be a good fit for you.  Her white and black coat is stunning; she doesn't shed a lot.  Possum is about 17 pounds and we think she may be a Minnie Aussie mix, because of her Merle coloring and her partial sky blue eye, but long-haired Dapple Dachshunds are also known for the same features, so she may be a mix of either or a combination.

She enjoys playing with toys, but almost snuggles with them more than throwing them around.  Possum likes to chew on the toys; she will hold one in her paws, roll over on her back and just lay there clutching it in her paws like a child would do.   If she is lying next to you and you touch her, it is a given that she is going to roll over on her back and wait for the belly rubs to start…she loves belly rubs.   Possum does still have a tendency to chew on wood furniture, so she will need a loving, committed family who will keep an eye on her and continue to work with her to chew only on things she should have.  We also recommend a home for her where she will not be alone for more than 4 to 6 hours and we do think she will do best in a home where there is one other easygoing companion pup.

Possu m is fine with kids and cats, although she hasn’t been around either one very much.   She is just a very easygoing pup.   She is used to sleeping in her crate at night, but loves being up on the bed with you too.   She does well in her kennel, but will whimper when you first put her in if she knows you are still in the house; she does settle down quickly.  Possum is doing very well with her housetraining, but she will need for you to be consistent in taking her outside on a regular basis while she is learning a new routine.  She has had only a few accidents the whole time we have had her; she does not like to go outside when it is raining, but then most dogs don’t.
