Abby is a Catahoula/Pit Bull Mix who was born into the rescue on 05/07/12. She is about 60 lbs and full grown now. Abby is a very good pup who loves walks and playtime, is house trained, and crate trained. She is considered high energy because she still has a lot of puppy in her. She will sleep in her dog bed next to your bed all night long without a peep. She loves to cuddle and give kisses, and she will chase a ball and even bring it back to you. Abby loves toys and is not destructive with them. She plays well with her foster brothers and sisters, including a kitty cat. One of her favorite treats is raw green beans! Abby is very friendly, but can be a little wary of strangers. She needs an owner that will apply rules, boundaries, and consistency, as well as give her all the love she deserves. She has been to obedience training which comes with a 6 week interactive training course with her adoptive family. More about the breed: Catahoulas are highly intelligent and energetic. They are assertive but not aggressive by nature. They make a good family dog but will not tolerate being isolated, so interaction with the dog is a daily requirement. The Pit Bull Terrier has a strong pleasure to please. They are a good-natured, amusing, extremely loyal and affectionate family pet that is good with children and adults. Almost always obedient, and always eager to please its master, they are an extremely courageous and intelligent dog that is very full of vitality. The Pit Bull Terrier can be willful with meek owners and needs a firm hand. If you are interested in adding this pup to your family, please fill out our Pre-Adoption Application.
