*** ASK ABOUT OUR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT OPTION FOR THIS PUP *** Dolly is the ultimate companion pup! She is a Basset Hound mix pup who is about 3 years old and approximately 50 lbs. She has a definite Princess disposition and loves to be in the spotlight of her human's life, but she does need someone who can ensure she knows her boundaries and limitations and understands you are her alpha leader. Dolly should be an only pup as she can be very territorial and possessive. A bit of a walk every day, some playtime with her and her toys, along with giving her about 15-30 mins of running around the backyard and rolling around in the grass and she's good to just chill around the house the rest of the time. Her favorite spot? Right smack in the middle of the bed, if she's allowed, or her own bed! She'll lay there for hours. Dolly is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. She even knows how to use a doggy door. The best home for her will be a committed individual or couple with a relatively calm environment (no young kids!). Dolly is the most loyal lady you can imagine to her person or peeps. She has so much love to give and will be a joy for the right individual or couple to share their life with!! More about the breed: The Basset Hound is sweet, gentle, devoted, peaceful and naturally well-behaved. It fits into family life well. It is mild but not timid. It can be a bit stubborn with meek owners and needs a firm, confident, and consistent owner who displays natural authority over the dog. With proper training, they are obedient, but when they pick up an interesting smell, it's sometimes hard to get their attention, as they like to follow their noses.
