Dixie had a great life with her two-legged Mom, 2 smaller pups, and a kitty before her Mom got Alzheimer's disease and was taken away. When animal control came to pick them up, a neighbor stepped in to save Dixie. Unfortunately, Dixie was being intimidated by her bigger dogs and the home was not working out. Now she is in a foster home with the Pup Patrol, and looking for her furever home to spend the rest of her life in. Dixie is estimated to be around 8 years old, and is a nice medium size of about 50 lbs. She is in great health, stocky, and completely house trained of course, so an added benefit is she does not need to be crated while you are away.  

Because she spent her earlier years in a somewhat quiet home, Dixie is not used to being around a noisy, busy household and will hide in the corner if there is lots of loud people and activity.  For this reason, she is perfectly suited to a couple or single adult who needs a reason to get outside and take a walk every day.  She LOVES walks and is a dream on a leash.  Her most precious trait is she just wants to be everywhere YOU are.  If you go into the living room, she will go too.  If you go into your bedroom, she will be right behind you and curl up in the same room as you.

All of our adoptable pups have an adoption fee of $225, regardless of our expenses, and it includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test for pups 6 months and older, heartworm treatment if tested positive, deworming and/or fecal test, parasite treatment if tested positive, microchipping, any immediate known health issues, and pups 4 months and older are kept current on monthly heartworm prevention.
