Hemi is an amazing boy that is not only adorable, but also super smart! Hemi was surrendered to a shelter because his family did not realize how high energy a working breed dog is, and how much exercise and mental stimulation he needed. You see, Hemi is a Blue Heeler and he was bred to heard livestock. Since Hemi doesn't get the chance to do his job, he needs other activities to keep him stimulated. Things like daily walks, chasing the ball (his absolute favorite thing of all time!), training, and food games are all good options. Hemi knows his basic commands, walks great on leash, and is good with other dogs and children. He is already crate and house trained. Hemi is super affectionate, but he can be pretty hyper and likes to play rough so may be a bit much for some dogs and smaller kiddos. While he's ok with confident cats, he will try to get them to run and then of course chase them if they do! We believe he is around 3-4 years old and currently weighs 45 lbs. He will need an experienced and committed family.

All of our adoptable pups have a minimum requested adoption fee of $250 + tax (pups 6 months and older) and $350 + tax (pups under 6 months old), regardless of our expenses, and it includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test for pups 8 months and older, heartworm treatment if tested positive, deworming and/or fecal test, parasite treatment if tested positive, microchipping, any immediate known health issues, and pups 4 months and older are kept current on monthly heartworm prevention.
