Roper is an Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd mix who was born around May, 2003 and weighs just under 70 lbs.  He spent six of his first nine months at a local shelter and was rescued when his new ownder found out 'his card had been pulled' because he had not been adopted and they were out of room at the shelter.  He came to a house with a 10 yr old female Heller and a 2 yr old male Australian Shepherd.  All got along fine for a few years until about a year after the female Heller passed away due to old age.  At that time Roper seemed to have decided that he needed to pull rank on his older brother.l  They have not been able to get along since.  Roper has always been a house dog with doggie door access to the backyard.  He currently does not do well in a crate.  Roper is a sweet dog who loves his people.  He is gentle and submissive to people, including any kids he has been around.  Before his recent issue he got along with other dogs and even a house cat.  He is up to date on shots and is current on heartworm prevention.  Roper would be a wonderful, loving companion and pal to the right person or family.  If you are interested in Roper, please contact Lisa Arion at larion@panterasolutions.com for an application.  Roper's adoption fee is $175.
