Red Lab Mix, The Beautiful Miss Dora, is an ultra sweet female that is an unforgettable charmer and a true treasure of a dog. This sweetheart is friendly, calm, and lovable. She rarely barks except to say hello, or sometimes to warn of strangers coming. Mostly she just wags her tail and wiggles. Her foster mom has fed her treats and she has always taken them gently out of her hand. There just isn’t a mean bone in this lady’s body. She is friendly to women, men, and children, giving kisses readily, and is a real cuddle hound. Dora loves to be outside in the fresh air. She is good with the the other dogs in her foster home, and she wants to be friends with the cat, but the cat thinks she smells like a dog and won’t have anything to do with her. She rides in the car like a perfect lady; no drama, no motion sickness, just a calm and easy traveling companion. She is leash trained and does not pull, making her a complete delight to walk with; very relaxed and happy to walk, trot, or run by your side. Dora’s curious about other dogs but does not lunge and readily responds to commands and correction. Clearly she has been abused in the past. If you try to pet her on the top of her head she will duck, close her eyes, and shy away. It is likely she has been struck in the past. At the present time she is about 47 lbs, a tad underweight. At full weight we expect her to be no more than 50 lbs. with short golden-red fur. She is estimated at about 1-2 years old, so she is full grown. This dog is a good candidate for anyone who wants a good family dog. She will need a fairly calm household who will be patient with her. Because of this we recommend no children under 12 years of age. Daily exercise and play time ARE a must to help her overcome her shyness; however, with love, kindness, and good training she will be a dog to be forever remembered by her loving new permanent family. If you are interested in Dora, please contact Lisa Arion for an application at larion@panterasolutions.com. Dora's adoption fee is $175.
