We rescued Bear from a local city kill shelter when he ran out of time.  He could not be adopted, only rescued, because he was heartworm positive.  Still he kept hope every day, happily going up to the front of his run for pets and smiling every time, eager to be picked by someone who wanted him  and could give him a furever commited loving home.  He now has a new lease on life, still eagerly waiting, but receiving love and acceptance in a foster home and moving forward.  He successfully completed his heartworm treatment and is a healthy happy pup.

We believe he is approximately 4 years of age and weighs about 54 lbs.  He is a big cuddle bug, but also very active, getting bored easily.  Bear would benefit from basic obedience training and he would love every minute of it.  He really does want to please his people.  He will require a loving, dedicated family who has the patience to give him some firm, but gentle guidance, and is willing to exercise him daily.  In return he will be a wonderful loyal dog to that special and lucky family.
