IMPORTANT NOTE: Please click on “Read More about this Pet” at the bottom for additional information regarding this pet and adoption details. Buddy is a Yorkshire Terrier who is approximately 3 to 5 yrs old and weighs 9 to 10 lbs. This sweetie is too cute and has an adorable fun and playful personality! He is a bit nervous meeting new people at first, but warms up nicely and in no time is ready to start snuggling. He is crate trained and housetrained. We think he would be best in a home with older children or no children. His foster family has an 8 and 10 year old and he has been fine with them, but we get the impression he prefers not to be pestered. As many Yorkies can be, he would love to be the only pup and get all the attention and pampering for himself. He loves being with his people and follows his foster mom everywhere. Until he feels content and secure he will most likely whine if he can't get to his person on the other side of a door. Buddy will bark some, but not very much and not very loud. When he’s nervous he will bare his teeth (which is rather funny as he is missing a couple of front teeth). He loves to carry around, hide, and chew on his play toy bones. He has not been destructive chewing on anything else. He currently has very dry skin, but it is improving daily as he is taking supplements for it. His skin, coat, and flakiness should be worlds better in about 2-4 weeks. Buddy has received a dental cleaning. He also had a full blood panel done, and with the exception of a mildly low thyroid, everything is great. He will need to take a thyroid med daily for the rest of his life as well as have his levels checked periodically to maintain the dosage, but fortunately thyroid meds are not expensive.
