This is Petey, or Master P, as we refer to him.  We believe he is a Chihuahua mix pup who is about 1-1/2 yrs old and weighs approximately 12 lbs. Petey was my 2-week temporary foster pup, and what can I say…… that was about a month ago. Petey came home the first night very shy and unsure, but I admit my crew can be a bit much. By the third day Petey owned the house and he and little Zeus, another DFW Pup Patrol foster, are unstoppable together. Petey is crate trained, housetrained, does well with cats, and dogs his own size. I can only assume he would do well with larger dogs, but not having anything large I can’t attest that. Petey just loves everything. He sleeps in his crate, but prefers in bed with you, UNDER the covers if you don’t mind.  Petey had some kind of family once; he knows right where the best pillows are. I have seen no food aggression, toy or chewy issues. He would do best I think with a buddy his size to play with, but knowing Petey, center of attention would work well also. He’s just a tad on the “chunky” side, so I am watch his calories and he and Zeus never sit still so exercise is taken care of. Petey is one of those fosters that really get to you, the knowledge that someone had him and then let him go cannot be understood. Petey will love you forever if you just give him a chance, but I warn you, if you give him a chance you will always wonder who rescued who. That’s Master P!

All of our adoptable pups have an adoption fee of $200, regardless of our expenses, and it includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test for pups 6 months and older, heartworm treatment if tested positive, deworming and/or fecal test, parasite treatment if tested positive, microchipping, any immediate known health issues, and pups 4 months and older are kept current on monthly heartworm prevention.
