Pancake is nothing but sweet, sweet, sweet with a lot of personality! We believe she is an American Pit Bull Terrier mix girl who weighs between 35 and 40 lbs and is approximately 1 to 1-1/2 years of age. She loves to go on walks, hang out at the pool with her foster mom every morning, and enjoys their cuddle time too. Pancake is hilarious in the morning with her routine, taking each and every one of her toys outside one by one through the doggie door and then proceeds to play with all of them. She and her foster mom wake up early so she can sunbathe out by the pool during the cooler part of the day and just enjoy her one on one time with her human, her favorite thing to do! Pancake likes to cuddle with us and take naps while watching tv together. She has good manners and does not even ask to sit on the furniture or beg for food. She does not even mind you messing with her food bowl while she eats, truth be told she likes you to be in the same room with her at dinner time. She is a happy girl who loves getting plenty of hugs and kisses. Pancake is very energetic and needs someone that can keep her engaged and busy, not just with exercise, but also mental stimulation. She is still working through some of the last bits of the “puppy stage” so lots of patience is needed. She is a chewer, so her furever home will need to make sure that they are diligent about picking up objects on the floor and counters that can be chewed or swallowed. Don’t worry though, we are working on the chewing and with a little more help she will do just fine. She tends to get bored easily so she needs someone that can keep her entertained and spend time playing with her. She is quite smart and picks things up very quickly. Pancake has been known to dig occasionally, mostly to bury her treats and save them for later! She is still learning to stay in her yard so a fenced back yard to run and play in is what she needs. She loves it when you go outside with her. Pancake LOVES people and is a sucker for belly rubs and ear scratches. When we go to a pet store her happiness is contagious, her whole body wags right along with her tail and people just have to stop and pet her. We are not sure how well Pancake will do with small children only because we do not have any kids ourselves, but this girl has the sweetest disposition, so we don't anticipate any problem whatsoever other than she is a strong pup. Pancake is great with other pups her size or smaller. Any pup bigger than she is will require a proper introduction between the two as bigger dogs do seem to intimidate her at times. Now, what about cats? Again, not really sure because we don’t have any. I can say that on our walks through the neighborhood we have encountered a kitty or two and she has shown no aggression or desire to chase them. Pancake does well in the car, she likes to look out the window and sleep. We can also say that Pancake believes herself to be quite tiny and likes to sit in our lap which we LOVE! Pancake is an indoor dog and is potty trained. At night and while we are at work she stays in her kennel (which is quite spacious) since we are still working on her chewing. Pancake is an amazing dog, she is so smart and quite hilarious! We can’t wait to get come home every day and be with her. She will make a loyal and loving companion, all she needs is someone that will be loving and loyal to her.
