Little Reeses has had a rough start to his life. He is estimated to have been born around Oct, 2013 and weighs approximately 10 lbs. We believe he is a Min-Pin mix, possibly with Chihuahua or Dachsund. Reeses is very, very sweet once he gains your trust and gets to know you and will quickly become a happy, playful little dog then; however, he is very scared of strangers. Reeses does seem to be especially attracted to children, so we think he may have had a best human buddy in his past. Though he was quite shy in his foster home at first, he now eats and sleeps regularly, his ears are up, and he is wagging his tail almost always. He plays with his toy in the family room by throwing it in the air and chasing it. He is even playing with a 14 year old pup that on occasions that lives in the home with him, which actually surprised his foster dad since his pups haven't played with other dogs in years. Reese is well behaved, knows the word "no' (even tone) and hasn't had an accident in the house. He now goes outside with the other dogs without separation anxiety issues and freely comes back and forth through the door. Several times he has barked at the door when he needed to go out as well. We think at one point in his young life he has had someone act abusive towards him, but someone else must have shown him love and caring as he does tend to respond quickly ones he feels safe with someone. When strangers come around he simply goes and hides, so he will need a person/family who has the commitment and patience to continue helping him with socializing with other people as it may take some time for him to overcome. We believe he would be best suited to a new, permanent home with one or two calm adults and maybe a child or two that have relatively calm energy.
