This sweet boy's foster mom has nothing but good things to say about Roger. "The day that Roger showed up in my life as a short term foster was life changing for both of us. He was so thin that he could barely hold his head up or walk. He was handed to me and I cried as I felt his bony little body in my arms. This little poodle pooch has found a large piece of my heart with his spunk and personality and his complete joy for the life that was given back to him when DFW Pup Patrol took him into the rescue. Roger was only 4 lbs on his arrival, but he is now over 9 and the vet expects him to top out around 11. He loves to eat and will carry his food bowl as well as those of his foster dog siblings around the house just in case you decide to fill it up again. Roger is around 1 year old and as he has gained strength and energy. He is the most playful, sweet, and happy little guy you could ever hope to meet. He has earned the nick name of Roger Rabbit because of his funny way of hopping around when he plays. He will bark at new animals at first but he plays very well with my 4 dogs, and even my cats. He has been around children and loves them too, but due to his small size it would be best to have a child that is able to be gentle with him. He is working on house training and does pretty well but he will need someone that can give him the time and patience to finish the process. He sleeps all night on a little bed next to ours and has no accidents but he is on a routine with scheduled breaks at this time. He really doesn't like the crate although we are working on teaching him that it is ok just to have a snack and take a nap in it for a while. I think that he will be best in a home where he isn't left alone for hours every day. Roger would love to accompany you for walks and with his high energy he can be a great walk buddy. Or if you drive, he likes to come along as the co-pilot. If you are in need a of companion dog that will make your heart smile as he greets each day with enthusiasm and go for walks, play with toys and snuggle up for lots of love, then Roger just may be the perfect pup for you!
