Bear is a Labrador Retriever mix who is estimated to be 5 to 6 years old and currently weighs around 60 lbs; he could stand to lose a few. He’s been surrendered twice, through no fault of his own. The first time, he was surrendered with his brother due to life changes of his parents. His brother got adopted fairly quickly and Bear got depressed. He spent several months in the shelter before he was adopted by a disabled Vet. His new dad kept him almost a year before his medical needs compelled him to again surrender Bear. Unfortunately it was found that Bear had heart worms, but he’s been treated for them and has recovered perfectly! What’s really important is that Bear cannot have heart worms again. Prevention is imperative! Bear is looking for a home where he can spend the rest of his days. He doesn’t want another temporary home. He is gentle, laid back, house trained, crate trained, and learning some basic obedience. He’s smart, willing to learn and eager to please. He gets along with other dogs well. He loves water, and really enjoys his daily walks.
